~ st. louis

Made a quick trip to St. Louis to visit my sister-in-law, Nina. We are crazy together and go nonstop the second I get there until the second I leave. We started at KDR in hopes of finding Sunbrella fabric for our patio furniture and pillows. We did get some samples ordered... nothing special to share as far as photos go. I thought this bench was lovely... made of concrete!

I'm such a sucker for Brunschwig and Fils fabrics!

Also loved this Manual Canovas wallpaper...

and fabric.

A charming Manual Canovas toile...

Next we were off to antique shops...
Brilliant Antiques is always full of beautiful treasures...

Next, we went to an antique mall. I used to turn my nose up at the thought of sifting through all the junk. Let's just say I definitely have changed my tune about that... I'm not exaggerating when I tell you we spent several hours shopping. We went back the next day for more. I didn't have time to think about getting my camera out. Did I find anything? You could say that. I will share my purchases in a post entitled, "Inspired Shopping" as many of our purchases were inspired by the collections featured recently in inspired home posts.

Of course, I always have to drive through pretty neighborhoods. Nina is the absolute best driver for this activity. She has no problem whatsoever stopping in the middle of the street so that I can get a good shot. She will roll down her window and wave people around. She's the best! Pretty homes are not hard to find.

Some of the homes look like churches!

Doesn't this look like Napa?

Looks like my son's school in New Hampshire!

Of course, I couldn't wait to do Nina's house ~ inside and out! The outside doesn't look like it should be in St. Louis... more like South Carolina... So charming!

Wait until you see the inside! Please be prepared to be alert and focused. The images may resemble another home you've seen on this blog. Mine. It's no coincidence my friends. Nina has absolutely no shame whatsoever. If I have it, she wants it. And I think it's the funniest thing I've ever seen.

Would you care to adopt anther sister? Love when sisters get together. Wishing my daughter had a sister, but alas, not happening. I love the name Nina and contemplated that for her...but she is an Amelia Louise and her brother chose her name.
What stunning homes - I want to capture them all.
Enjoy your posts and all the love and enthusiasm you share for life and stylish living. You sister Nina is lucky to have you to compliment.

OMG. This has brought back so many memories. i lived in St.Louis for 40 years and know all the places you have shown well. The antique shop is owned by my friend Arline Brilliant, she has the best as she travels to Europe to buy. She has been there a long time and is so dear. The design center is nice, it is fairly new in that location. I love to visit and see what's in and what's out. My home is now 70 miles from St.Louis in Clarksville,mo. My home town I have came here to retire, but I have a shop and am in it most 7 days a week. Thanks for the trip down memory lane and thanks for showing St.Louis for the beautiful city that it is. It often gets bad raps, but it is indeed a beautiful city. Richard from My Old Historic House.

How beautiful! I am the same way when I go on holidays - if there are antique stores I can spend hours browsing through them! I love it! It looks like you have a wonderful visit!
