When we returned to Napa last week, Swanson Vineyards was at the top of the list. It's almost like taking a quick trip to the south of France... See for yourself...
Boy did I get my fill of Ira Yeager paintings... I've mentioned in past posts my obsession and total love for Ira Yeager paintings... Whimsical paintings with charming animals, peasant vintners, and french writing... Swanson Vineyards houses quite a collection, and the paintings have come to define the look of the Salon, for me anyway.
The Sipping Room is next door and also has a nice collection of Ira Yeager paintings... I especially love this one painted on a gorgeous trumeau mirror... Isn't it awesome? Seriously!
I think Ira must have painted these watering cans... they match the edging of his paintings!
The courtyard just outside the Salon and the Sipping Room is enchanting... Like straight out of a fairytale.
Could have been in the European countryside by the looks of these images, right? So absolutely charming and wonderful... Can you see why I'm obsessed?
The smell of those ripe grapes in the air is enough to make me feel a little tipsy. Believe me, I was drunk on beauty!
(FYI: I was not literally drunk. Alcohol was consumed as part of the tasting, and thoroughly enjoyed as a matter of fact, but drunk in the previous sentence is used playfully to describe my sense of being lost in the beauty, being happy about the beauty...)

Jan, you have a fellow fan in me. I LOVE NAPA VALLEY and would love to fulfill a dream and move there one day or at least have a small home up in the hills overlooking a beautiful vineyard with my own garden! Doesn't hurt to dream!
Napa Valley continues to inspire me in many ways also, I was totally smitten when there and to this day even the word "Napa" gets my attention.....I am hoping and praying to go back next year!! Wanna come? Enjoy your day!
Hi, Jan,
I am not familiar with this winery. It certainly is lovely, and I wish I were there in Napa myself. I loved every visit there and it has been too long. Maybe one day.
Have fun there and please take lots of pictures of Chateau Montelena, my favorite.
Best...Victoria
This looks lovely. What a great get away. I would love to visit there one day.
Napa will always hold a special place in my heart, as my husband and I moved to San Fran as newlyweds...so many many trips to Napa and Sonoma were involved that year.
The outside space at Swanson is swoon worthy. As we begin our renovation, the landscaping won't happen until next summer, but I'm always looking for inspirational photos!!!
xoxo Elizabeth
Thanks for the great tour. We have been there, one of our favorite places also. Love so many great winery's in Napa. I also really like the painting. Hugs, Marty
I love the Ira Yeager pieces. When I was in St Helena a cute little shop on the corner had several pieces and I loved them all. I think it is the bright colors over scaled pieces full of whimsy that draws my attention. I love Napa Valley and I am very blessed to live close enough to visit whenever I want, It is always special no matter what time of year you go there. Your pictures are wonderful and I think you caught the essence of NapaValley, Kathysue
