~ white outside and inside

This post is dedicated to my mother, who after travelling “north” to Jacksonville, FL recently, sent me photos of the view from their hotel room, (which included both the beach and palm trees) and proceeded to tell me it was too cold to go outside… I believe it was somewhere in the neighborhood of 70-75 degrees.
I received this information while pulling into my driveway and couldn’t resist stopping to snap a photo of our current situation…

On another note, look what I found at the grocery store!
(Yes Mother, I travelled in this weather to the grocery store...)

You may recall from this post, I'm not particularly fond of poinsettias... So, when I saw these gorgeous white hydrangeas, I thought they would be a perfect replacement for the poinsettia on my coffee table... and I was correct.

I just added the reject to this bunch...

Maybe the white outside inspired me to add the white inside...
Another inspired home coming tomorrow!

Ugh Jan I do believe your mom and mom are sisters. I am sending her this very post. If it dips below 65 I get 6 calls in one day to be sure I have dressed MY GROWN SONS approrpriatley with jackets, scarves, hats, (mind you they haven't worn those since they were 5 and only believe in t shirts in the winter..yea I know you are shaking your head in agreement) but seriously my mom is obsessed with the weather knows the forecast 2 weeks in advance for her area, my area and just about the entire U.S!!!!!! LOL.......house looks great!

Here in SW Florida this morning it is 43 degrees, but will be 70 and sunny this afternoon. I can live with that and delight in the fact I can open all the doors and won't need air conditioning. It will be delightful weather for decorating my tree.

I am with you on the poinsettias. The white ones are OK, but I would choose -- and did choose -- hydrangeas any day.

Best...Victoria

We had a little dusting of snow during the night too, but the sun is out now so it won't be here for long. LOVE the whole vignette on your coffee table! The white hydrangia looks so pretty and I LOVE LOVE those tiered boxes! Martina

PS- the outside of your house looks beautiful:)

First I love your new header it's gorgeous! I had to laugh at what your parents are going through since we're going through the same thing. It's just snow and there's nothing like the first real snow of the season!

Thank you for this lovely dedication, my precious. Your home looks so charming and like a Christmas card! But I don't miss it at all. I knew you would not be able to deal with the hideous poinsettia for long (burnt orange or not)! Are we the only anti--poinsettia girls?? Love you.

I love the first picture, it looks exactly what a Christmas house should look like!! I am in California so we don't get the pretty snowfall here. I love to look at it, not sure I would want to live in it. If we could have the best of both worlds, now wouldn't that be nice. I think weather obsession is an age thing. Sometimes I think it is the only big change in their day. I am determined to not discuss the weather at great length as i get older!! A phobia of mine!! Too funny!!
Merry Christmas,

Well, this Cali girl is thinking that the white stuff falling around your beautiful home is looking gorgeous about now, but I do agree with you about poinsettias...never been a favorite and I always incorporate the white hydrangeas because they do kind of have a snowy feel. Thanks for stopping by FK...have really enjoyed my visit here.

I was born and raised in Florida so I can understand your mom not liking cold weather. Your home looks beautiful .

Can you please help? I love the dark green shutter color that you have against your orangish brick!! I've been searching for a color to use on our home and it's been very difficult to find a good green. Do you know the make and name of your paint color? I would be most appreciative:)

So I also love your paint colors and my home is being painted next week! Would you happen to also remember the name of the trim paint color? It is the perfect combination!
