~ colorbooks

I have been fascinated with books arranged by color ever since I saw this photo from Vogue... here

and from that same Vogue...

Seems like things always appear in multiples for me... Not long after, I began to see image after image of color coded books.
 Phoebe Howard... here

Windsor Smith... here

and most recently, Meg Braff (from Cote de Texas)

So finally I straight up searched on Pinterest... I mean, what the hell, right?

I am extremely overwhelmed over this conundrum... just plain puzzled I tell you.
Dare I consider for a minute COLOR CODING MY BOOKS? I'm not even sure I have enough colored books to do such a thing!
Oh dear Lord...

PS I have recently spent quite a bit of time organizing my posts under the new category links in my sidebar. For me, this activity required quite a bit of brain power and skill.. Good grief! Take a look and visit some old inspiring posts in your favorite category. Please.

A gorgeous post Jan and yes I am spending a fair bit of time on your older posts for my feature on The French Tangerine this coming Monday 5 March! And I am having a great time thank you very much! Hope you received my email with the details.

But now I have a sudden urge to rearrange all the books in my bookcases...

My husband and kids (and friends and guests to our home) would think I was insane if I color coded our books!

Love the new look of the blog. Great idea to organize your posts that way.

This is a pretty look, but I prefer to organize my books by category and then -- for neatness and less visual clutter -- in size place within that section. If you really wanted to read the books again, how would you ever find them? Maybe a Dewey Decimal System of your own? I think I am getting a headache. Have a great day.
All the best...Victoria

Hi Jan...looks like you hit the colored book jackpot bonanza on Pinterest. Beautiful...really don't think this would work for me since I have very few colored books come to think of it, and I am not a big matchy matchy person but do think some of these are beautiful!

I don't have enough books to arrange by color either. I do like the look in some of those rooms. Especially love the room with the large green checked sofa.

I just pinned several of these photos. The colors are great. Our library has a used book sale each year, and it is a great place to buy books for decorating on the cheap. Now I can't wait for the next one.

Beautiful. The fourth and fifth are my favorites. I will have to try this.
Happy Thursday.

I have bookcases around my doorframe to create a mirror living room. These are the books I love most, recently, I painted the background a great green for punch, I think bookcases should look like real people live in your home. I have seriously edited the books for this case to contain my favorites.

If I suggested to any of my clients that I could color code their library's they would laugh at me. Great pictures! But, no thanks. xxpeggybraswelldesign.com

Love the look of these books - I couldn't do it because I don't have that many. And in regard to your reorganizing your posts, they ALL inspire me!
