~ family room update

Remember, months ago, I showed you my new charming antique kitchen chairs? Here's the post, if you've completely forgotten. I had almost completely forgotten! I mean, upholstery takes time, I get it, but this was getting a little weird. FINALLY, my kitchen chairs are back, and can I please tell you? They are as wonderful as expected. I love all the fabrics, and am thrilled to have kitchen chairs again!

Here they are in all their glory...

Remember, this is what I had before.. fine, but not antique and not french and not charming.. just fine.

Then, I upgraded to these beautiful antique chairs from Rousset Antiques. Loved them so much and hoped the fabric would work, but it just wasn't right. And I definitely didn't like the white backs.

Now, I am so satisfied it's not even funny.
Just take a look at the attention to detail!

Love the use of different fabrics!

We also had cushions made for a set of four chairs I've had for years...  Just to pull up as needed. We used the acorn fabric also used on the sides of the kitchen chairs above...

I am obsessed with the ballerina ties on the back of the chairs!

Just so happy with how everything is coming together!

Just after the chairs arrived, and I was thinking my day couldn't get any better, a small package arrived at the door. Surprises do not show up in the mail very often... like straight-up presents, out of nowhere. Not until I opened this darling goldfish-in-a-bag soap did I remember... A TFT reader promised to send me one... just for fun. It's the best seller in her line of Clearly Fun Products. HERE

And if that gesture of kindness wasn't enough, (it was) she also included these adorable little numbers! Can you believe? She used the tangerine from my logo, and my favorite little treasures from artist Patricia van Esche, and created adorable soaps!

And if that wasn't enough, (it was) she included this package of charming egg soaps.. just in time for egg season!

Just a little care package full of sweet things for no reason at all...

Thank you Dawn Brooker, 2008 Georgia Small Business Person of the Year! Thank you so much for taking the time to send me such thoughtful little treats!

Clearly Fun Products doesn't do retail - wholesale only. They do lots of custom soaps for businesses, fundraisers, and the like. Visit Dawn's website, Clearly Fun Products... After a peek, you will clearly see how fun these products are!

Jan the new chairs are spectacular! Don't you just love when a design concept comes together like that? They are warm, unique and interesting all while being subtle enough to blend with the rest of the room. Great job.
I also love the soaps from Dawn... going to contact her about some for the shop. ~Jen

They look fabulous and your home looks amazing! It's so strange because I have a set of almost identical dining chairs that are waiting to be re-upholstered - but I haven't found the right fabric yet. I only just blogged about this today (I'm in the UK) - isn't that bizarre? Love the blog - glad to have found you!
