~ mums the word

My mom and I have never been fans of mums or poinsettias which poses a slight problem when shopping for house plants in the fall and winter. My sister-in-law loves mums and poinsettias and thinks we are stupid. So this year, I decided to give mums a try. I picked up a few plants and pumpkins and about fell over when they rung me up at the hardware store... "That'll be $27.99" ~ something I could get used to!

FYI: To the left of the mum sits my dining room chair... the real chair is getting recovered and painted. It's going to look SO different!

 Tucker... watching me take photos...

Ok fine, I guess they aren't so bad...
It's definitely starting to feel like fall around here!

Love the mums and pumpkins on your front entry. Looks very fall like. I know some people like to try and plant their mums for the following year, but they never seem to last much past the fall season here. - Tonya

Your home is just beautiful, Jan! I love all of your fall decorations and can't wait to see the chair! Love your rug in that room, too!

I just don't think I can do mums here in FL--I don't even like Fall that much. I remember I did get varied color pumpkins last year for the porch. But your mums do look pretty, especially in your home! Love, Mom
