~ festive july tables

With July 4th just around the corner, I thought some festive July tables might spark some inspiration. I must admit, when I think of entertaining for July 4th, it's more along the lines of hotdogs and corn on the cob, but it's fun to fantasize...

Hope your plans are getting you excited for July 4th!

Absolutely LOVE the first two pictures, but all are just gorgeous. Maybe when my Fourth of July celebrations no longer entail about 15 kids running around, I can do something a little more formal and fun! Beautiful ideas!

Wish I had kept photos of my 4th of July outdoor celebration in 1976 - our country's 200th Anniversary.

I decided to have a formal picnic in a French theme because the French helped us finance the War. I had 3 long tables set up on the patio. There were candelabras on every table, red linen table clothes, hugh red and white rose arrangements with American and French Flags in them and fine white china, good crystal and sterling silver flatware. Each place setting had a red napkin tied with a red-white-and -blue ribbon.

We had magnums of French wine, mixed baby greens, French bread, cheeses, fruits, Rosemary chicken, roast beef and I don't remember what else. Every one dressed up - men in suits and women in long gowns. Over 30 years later, people still remember that evening with fondness.

We were newlyweds then and this cost us a pretty penny. It was, however, worth it for the memories.
