~ new master bedroom carpet story

After fourteen years, the original carpet in my master bedroom didn't look that bad, but with the recent changes to the decor in the room, the darker carpet had to go.

And so the story begins...
Once upon a time, my designer Richard White brought me a beautiful sample of carpet and I ordered it and I loved it. The End.

I feel pretty confident in saying that doesn't typify a normal design scenario. I did not go to a store. I did not look in a book. I did not see any other options. One sample ~ done.

Out with the old...

In with the new!

Still need a comfortable chair and ottoman. That kitchen chair is saving the spot...

Still need a charming table between these chairs...

Love the mix of toiles!

(Hallway to bathroom and closets...)

Ta da!
So glad to have this crossed off the list. If you are interested in this carpet, please don't hesitate to call Richard White to order...
His website with contact info is here.

~ festive july tables

With July 4th just around the corner, I thought some festive July tables might spark some inspiration. I must admit, when I think of entertaining for July 4th, it's more along the lines of hotdogs and corn on the cob, but it's fun to fantasize...

Hope your plans are getting you excited for July 4th!

~ ridiculous roses

 Check out these roses...

Overtaken with the beauty, I moved them to the living room for a photo shoot...

I mean seriously, have you ever?

It dawned on me as these six roses continued to open up, they could become a pair of arrangements...

Whole Foods is where I found this half dozen of gorgeousness...

~ topiary love

Obsessed...

Topiaries making an entrance...

Very country french...

Perhaps the most beautiful topiaries I've seen reside in Ladew Topiary Gardens, one of the most beautiful gardens in the world, located in Monkton, Maryland...

Brace yourself.

Carolyne Roehm featured this amazing topiary garden on her blog...

You can read more about Brecy, located in Normandy, on Carolyne's blog here...

Even more images of Brecy on this blog... And again I say, brace yourself.

Topiaries can be ultra-sophisticated or enchanting and whimsical...

 Kelly Wearstler's Topiaries...

Stella McCartney's topiary garden...

And here are some of mine...

Completely obsessed.
