~ inspiration in the bedroom

Nice post title, yes?
Sometimes a spending freeze can produce some of my best design ideas. Perhaps when I know there is no rush to finish the project I am more relaxed? Make less mistakes?
If I won the lottery, I would completely re-do my upstairs. There are three bedrooms up there, and our third child will be leaving soon for college. In a perfect world, I'd be re-decorating away, but alas, the spending freeze.
Rather than put the bedroom makeovers to bed, I've taken this opportunity to do some planning for the future.. (Or for the day I win the lottery.) Pinterest has been a wonderful resource for categorizing my favorite images of bedrooms. I have absolutely no problem with copying, so I set out to find my 3 favorites. Easy, right?

First this bedroom from Charlotte Moss. I mean could it be any prettier?

The blue fabric on the bed and drapery is a favorite...

Our bedroom in our first house was a light blue toile ~ a very soothing and restful room. I'm still attracted to light blue bedrooms...

From Mary Douglas Drysdale

Love the pink painted ceiling!

I even love rooms with no color ~ totally neutral...

But when I see a pop of color, I change my mind...

Love the bed canopy treatment here.

Which brings me to this very favorite bedroom from Alexa Hampton.
If anyone knows the plaid fabric, please let me know! I've been searching for it! I think this is a definite option.

This room looks like it would coordinate nicely!

And so does this one...

Here's that wallpaper/fabric in another color ~ I love it also!

Sometimes a beautiful fabric is all you need...

Or a great wallpaper...

How about this beauty from Carolyne Roehm?

So charming from Kathryn Ireland...

Another beauty from Alexa Hampton...

Very cool!

Love the blue and green here...

From Michael Smith...

I have my work cut out for me. There is a lot of inspiration in this post ~ headboard ideas, end of bed ideas, over the bed ideas, beside the bed ideas... even on the bed ideas :) Fabrics, pillow placement, bedside table vignettes, and more. I will be happy to have this post for reference when I am ready to go!

I love those bedrooms! It's so easy to imagine retiring to soft feminine rooms perfectly appointed! Just doing our master now! Floors - new! Paint - done. Now fabric - I chose neutral horizontal stripe to kick it up a century! I think I sacrificed some "pretty", but I'm getting modern feel for a coastal look - I hope!!!
