~ i love chicago

Ok, back to Chicago. Had to get my April tablescape in before the month was over! Now it is May, and I can continue with my weekend in Chicago...

If you follow me on instagram, you already know about my fixation with the spring flowers planted on Michigan Ave. They are spectacular!

I mean seriously.

Spent a day at the Merchandise Mart exploring textiles and such... working on a major project coming this fall!
An amazing resource for tassels, trim, braids, bullion, and much more!

Loved seeing some of my favorite fabrics in person...
Lee Jofa

Brunschwig & Fils

Quadrille

And a visit to one of my favorite shops of all time, John Rosselli.
One of several Ira Yeager paintings... (OMG)

Hurricanes galore...

Beautiful boxes...

Ira Yeager

Adored these lamps..

And these adorable house boxes!

Another Ira!

Boxes and hurricanes were a definite theme...

Another favorite show room: Holly Hunt.
Here are a few favorite pieces from Dennis & Leen and Formations...

Between the intense cleaning at Hillary's apartment, the Chicago Antique Show on Friday, and the Mercandise Mart on Thursday, we walked and walked and walked some more. I stopped to snap the endless plantings of flowers around the Hancock Building...

A few more shots from the Antiques Show at Chicago Botanic... The entrance was spectacular...

And here are a few more shots from walking through the city...

I just love Chicago!

Wow. You made Chicago look so beautiful in your pictures. I live near the city and don't stop to appreciate it! Now that it's spring I need to take a trip downtown.

Growing up in the Midwest, Chicago was our "go to" big city. I loved it and still do. You might like this time lapse video of Chicago - it really is beautiful. https://vimeo.com/109354891

Last October we flew into Chicago, met my sister, and after eating at Eataly took the architectural boat tour down the river. It was really amazing, if you get the chance to do it. Eataly is a wondrous place by itself. Looking forward to getting one in DC in a couple years. Loved your photos of Chicago! Come to Annapolis sometime. Joan (somersethouse.me)
