~ ode to summer

When it comes to gardening, I love complete saturation of gorgeousness...

I have unrealistic expectations in May/June and want my flowers to look like they do in August/September. Patience is not a strong suit of mine...

Love this abundant bed of color with an outline of boxwood...

I have a new fascination with astilbe...

Except it only looks like this for about one month, right? If you're lucky?
But wow!

Check out this heavenly hydrangea...

Poppies..

Roses...

I adore this terra-cotta container, and the hydrangea in the background is fab.

What a luscious living wall!

I do love the change of seasons. I actually look forward to cold days and curling up by the fire, making soup, and staying inside on a snowy day. I even look forward to shorter days ~ complete darkness at 6pm! Shorter days equal longer nights. Said the night owl... But soon enough, the gray days get to me. I miss leaves. I miss my pots and my fountain. I miss the fullness of my landscaping. I miss the color of summer...

Hoping my begonias last through September!
