~ palmilla

My current view, looking through the window to my patio, is a stark contrast to the one below.. .  It's snowing!

Our Thanksgiving weekend was spent in Mexico, or as it is deservedly referred to in our family, paradise. Palmilla, a One and Only property, is a favorite location for a heavenly vacation..

Last year, a hurricane forced the resort to close, and our Thanksgiving trip was cancelled as a result. They didn't reopen until March of this year! The upgrades and renovations are certainly noticeable, but our favorite things about the resort ~ the comfortable and luxurious feel, the impeccable service ~ remain the same.

Priscilla the turtle...

Her baby follows close behind...

If you follow the path above, it leads to the pool below. I never got a good pic of my own, but here's a wonderful image from their website... It's worth sharing :)

Agua, a bar and restaurant...

During the day, staff can be seen gathering petals and leaves in their baskets...

Each night, while we are at dinner, the turndown service includes a lovely floral design on the bed!

It actually rained much of the time we were there, but we were happy to be together. Vacations feel different after your children move out!

Hope your Thanksgiving weekend was relaxing and joyful.

~ holiday shopping on the french tangerine

A few of my favorite things from the shop for the holiday season...
Click any item for more information...

Love this marbleized bowl with gold accents.
Fill it with lemons or tangerines for the kitchen, or red ornaments for the living room.

Fill this striking blue jar with red berries and greens for the holidays...

Or a pair of these with white roses... wow.

One of many examples of mercury glass with copper...

Conceptualized from a fragment found in France, the inspiration for this hand painted and aged crown comes from the "Ray of Light" eternalized in the great churches of Europe. As seen on the altars usually behind a dove.

My favorite placemats for a special holiday celebration...

The perfect gift for your favorite friend, or a treat for yourself :)

 Handsome hurricanes from Bunny Williams!

Rumor has it Michael Smith has used these cobalt blue hurricanes in the White House for a holiday dinner..

My very favorite pet bowls - featured in Town & Country Gift Guide this year!

This basket filled with moss and orchids would be stunning for a holiday display...

I would fill this with tangerines and call it a day... Charming!

The perfect holiday gift for your bestie...

One of my favorite things... I have the large,

and the small size...

Featured in my last post, these iron wreaths bring the perfect combination of charm and sophistication to a room..

Your first tulipiere can be purchased right here!

These glasses are the perfect addition to your holiday celebrations...
Fill with white roses or your favorite cocktail!

Hope your holiday season is coming together nicely ;)
Wishing you a wonderful Thanksgiving!
