skirted table

On a recent trip to Augusta, I found a skirted table that I thought might work in my Master bedroom. I figured if it didn't work in my bedroom, I could use it in the guest room upstairs... it's so neutral, certainly it would work somewhere!  This little project is part of a larger list for this room that is currently on a "later" table.  Ultimately, I'd like to replace these dark brown leather wing chairs altogether, and lose the funky ottoman. Instead, I envision a beautiful french chaise with a french fabric in the right corner, and a pair of small, interesting, painted french chairs at the end of the bed with a small table between.  Under the mirror, a bench or ottoman or trunk, not sure about that yet...

In the mean time, while living with the dark and masculine brown leather wing chairs, (what was I thinking?) new pillows and a skirted table will have to do...

Here, you can see the original table... which isn't a bad table, just dark and boring, and not french.

So I put the skirt right on the existing table which isn't the right size, but you can definitely see that it's a warmer look.  Also, I added a different blanket and pillows from the bed since I sold the brown Fortuny pillows that used to be there to my sister-in-law...

Still need: particle board table (coming) so I can use the other table somewhere else... and new pillows for chairs (waiting for fabric samples) I will also be looking for charming french chairs for end of bed, and I think I know what chaise I want, but will always be open to an antique if I find it before I'm ready to order...

It's a process, isn't it?
