Easter was weird. All three of our children were busy with their own lives, all doing good and positive things that didn't involve their parents. There were no baskets, no egg hunts, no brunch plans. So my husband and I ventured to Park City, Utah, and what a fun surprise that turned out to be…

The scenery was spectacular...

The St. Regis Deer Valley is a splendid hotel and being in between seasons, we felt like we had the whole place to ourselves.

The biggest surprise was the funicular which my husband called the funiculater the entire weekend...

The funicular, or incline railway, serves as an outdoor glass elevator up the mountain! Technically, it consists of two counterbalanced cars at either end of a cable passing round a driving wheel at the summit. The glass car rides up a track and delivers guests to the hotel lobby on the mountain!

We took walks everyday in the 65 degree weather… beautiful!

Apparently, Utah is awesome. The gardens shared in my last post were a definite highlight, but the whole trip was relaxing and rejuvenating, the scenery a constant inspiration.
