I feel like I am driving everyone crazy on instagram with multiple posts and stories about Shellegance shells.. Lucie deMoyencourt has us all in a chokehold over these beauties! I have done multiple blog posts about Lucie, and I post shell collections on my instagram account regularly, yet to my surprise, there are still people out there commenting with questions like, “Tell me about these shells… Are they plates? Can they be hung on a wall?” to which I am flabbergasted and reply in my head, “Ma’am, where have you been?”
All this to say, here I am again, talking about the shells.
For those who have been following all along, thank you for your patience…
Here’s the dealio:
Every few months, I receive about 80-100 shells and the majority of them sell in 24 hours. I keep a list of interested buyers, and alert them when the shipment arrives. I send a few photos to see if any are “must-haves” for pre-order, and this method has worked out pretty well. On any given day between large shipments, I may have just a handful of shells in stock, until someone new, in search of Lucie’s shells, finds their way to my website. I’m so happy to be a part of the thrill!
I am so excited about the next shipment I have coming of…. leaves! Very similar to the ceramic shells, the shapes represent various leaf varieties, and they could not be more charming. The leaves have a wider range of interest in that they are everywhere, wherever you live. (The shells are often sold to coastal homes.) I have about 100 leaves arriving this month, and they are stunners.
Here is the image we used as a “direction” for Lucie to produce the shapes and colors… mostly green with a few orange.
Here is a selection of the actual leaves I have coming very soon…. As you can see, some of the leaves can easily pass for shells… Anyway, I could not be more excited about this collection!
In addition to shells and leaves from Lucie deMoyencourt, the Queen of ceramic shells, I have lots of new ceramics in stock from several new artists!
Dee Barnes, from the UK, is on a tiger kick, and I am loving it.
The greens in this vase send me, and the little leaves creating the scalloped edges at the top? Adore. The tiger handles are something else.
Her tiger candlesticks are about as charming as can be.
A wonderful green tiger bowl with a beautiful blue interior with gold dots.
I have a few vases coming from Dee this summer, and I can’t wait to see what she sends!!
I also received some stunning new pieces from Lisa Sandner, a German artist. She is a favorite of mine, for sure. These new pieces include the most wonderful terracotta color. Her hand-painted designs amazing. I love the shapes of these plates.
I am most excited to show you the linens with intaglio bees. This collaboration with Elizabeth Lake was an absolute dream. I’m going to do a separate post with some gorgeous photos, so that will be fun to look forward to. In the meantime, here is a snapshot of this project.
Happy Menocal did these darling illustrations inspired by the intaglio soaps from Bridie Hall, below. These illustrations served as the inspo for the appliqué linens.
We did a scallop dinner napkin using colors from my logo and branding.
The cocktail napkins are reverse colors with white embroidery. I love the scalloped edges on these guys.
I am thrilled to introduce Nicholas Newcomb ~ a new artist in the shop! His use of color is right up my alley, and a perfect fit for the shop. The Color Field Collection - a collaboration between Ceramicist Nicholas Newcomb and Interior Designer, Patrick Mele - is especially wonderful.
The large candyland colored cake plate is enormous and a favorite piece - a real showstopper.
Turn the cake plate over for a dip serving platter! You could even fill the center with flowers and put crackers and cheese around… Or a selection of fruits!
Adore these oval trays for serving up some fun at your next gathering…
And a few new Amelia Tuttiett pieces have arrived, with a few more on the way!
I just love her chickens so much.
Obsessed with her candlesticks. They take your breath away…
Carole Glover, with these golden ceramic pieces, continues to deliver… Only a couple pieces left in stock, until next time.
We remain your top French pottery resource, always!
God love your heart if you are still with me, but guess what is coming next month? That’s right, Christmas in July. I have over 100 Czech Christmas trees, my friends… Here’s a peek.
So. Many. Trees. Plus a few surprises…
Have a wonderful weekend, and stay cool. It’s supposed to be 105 degrees in Omaha tomorrow, so we’ll be staying indoors!
A good day to do some online shopping!
