GREEN VALLEY RANCH

Our recent trip to Whitefish was just wonderful! We visited the location for the wedding ceremony and reception, and it did not disappoint. Green Valley Ranch has been on Hillary’s mind since the day she got engaged. (And let’s be honest, for about a year prior as well..)

Visiting in the fall was an added treat. To experience all the beauty this place has to offer in a different season was a gift. Hillary’s wedding is in June, and it will most likely be a lil chilly at that time in the mountains - especially at night. This particular October morning was really cold, but the views were outstanding!

The happy couple…

On the property, there is a lodge that accommodates 14 guests comfortably, plus a cabin that sleeps a few more.. It is a spectacular Montana experience - the ultimate in rustic luxury!

Here is a photo of the Lodge from the GVR website.

We were in awe walking around, and I did get a few photos…

I didn’t get photos of the bedrooms, but here’s a good one from the website. You can see more of the inside on the GVR website here. It feels very Ralph Lauren and chic and comfortable.

The private property includes 480 acres located minutes from Glacier National Park. It is surrounded by national forest, and every direction you turn, there is another magnificent view.

I encourage you to visit their website to learn more about the property. In fact, their history page is great material for a novel.

“Green Valley Ranch was originally homesteaded by the George Green family in the early 1900’s when Glacier Park was newly created. The land was sold in 1947 and operated for fifty years as a dude ranch known as Desert Mountain Lodge. In 1999, the ranch was purchased and restored by the current owners – grandchildren of the original homesteading family.”

We are very excited to celebrate Hillary and Keenan’s wedding day!. Here is a photo from GVR’s instagram page showing a tent set up for a wedding. Isn’t it so charming?

In addition to the venue visit, we had an incredible tasting with the caterer, and the menu is set. We ate too many bites of cake flavors, and discussed table mock-ups and flowers. We toured the welcome party facility, and enjoyed every minute of being in our wedding planner’s home in beautiful Montana. We adore working with Greenwood Events! Arden and Darci have been amazing and we feel very fortunate to have them helping us every step of the way. Planning a wedding in a location where I am not familiar with the vendors would be impossible! They are professional and they appreciate my input, but also tell me in the nicest way you can possibly imagine when I don’t know what I’m talking about. They are perfect.

Obviously, I am banned from sharing too many details until after the wedding. I am saving photos and staying organized so I can do a major post after the wedding. I will probably be bored out of my mind, after spending a year thinking about this wedding, so it will be nice to have a project to spend time on.
